Recap 4/17/05: 22-8 Win vs. Lugnuts

Another good win today, 22-8 vs. the Lugnuts. It was nice to have a full squad (12 players) and Steve back. Highlights:

Pitching

We got outstanding pitching performances from Jim and Daniel today, with Jim giving up two runs in four (4) strong innings and Daniel stuffing a Lugnuts rally in the sixth and giving up a single run in two innings. Mo finished up strongly, giving up one run in the final inning in his Sox pitching debut.

Hitting

We had a total of 17 hits and 11 bb/hbp en route to the 22-8 victory. Individual highlights:

• Dennis - Had a single, double, and a triple in a 3/5 (on-base 4/6) day.
• Doug - On-base 3/6
• Dan - On-base 3/5
• Mo - 3/4, on base 4/5 w/two doubles.
• Joey - On-base 3/5
• Kevin - On-base 4/5
• Steve - 2/4, on-base 3/5
• Daniel - 2/5

Defense

Overall, a solid day defensively. Strong work at catcher from Joey and Steve who threw out a couple of Lugnuts attempting to steal second. Daniel had a nifty pickoff to end the 7th and ended the game with a 5-4 double-play.

Upcoming

We play Los Monos 1:30 pm Mar Vista HS. Daniel will be out and Huffy is questionable. If anyone else has any issues making the game, you know the drill... Have a great week and I'll see you Sunday.
